Wine Tasting

Discover local wines produced from grapes grown in Cappadocia's volcanic soils. Vineyard tours and tasting sessions.

The Flavor of Volcanic Soils

Cappadocia's volcanic soils have been home to viticulture for over 4,000 years. The region's unique grape varieties, Emir (white) and Kalecik Karasi (red), develop distinctive aromas in soils enriched with volcanic minerals. In these lands where wine has been produced since the Hittite period, modern vineyards combine traditional methods with contemporary techniques.

Tasting Experience

Wine houses in the region offer vineyard tours, cellar tours, and professional tasting sessions. Tastings typically include 4-6 different wines with information provided about each. Pairings with local cheeses and mezes are made. Some wine houses also offer grape harvesting and wine-making workshop experiences.
